First 1st grade field trip: Around the Town

I don’t know if you know this about me, but I love field trips! I don’t know why, just do! This one really had me excited when I heard about it because I knew Eric would love it. We got to go to the airport to see the police helicopter and the airport fire station, then took a short tour of Bryant Denny, and lastly a lunch cruise down the Black Warrior on the Bama Belle.  Eric did have a blast on the trip, it was funny to hear all of his friends saying “Eric , look it’s a fire truck!” because they knew how much he liked them. Skating Fun

We had the pleasure of attending my friend’s sons 7th birthday one Saturday! What fun it was to go to Super Skate after all these years!! The boys had a blast and actually tried to skate a little. but Eric mainly just stayed on his razor and JE, well he just ran around the place… check it out!

They played the game wipe out, had a race, ate cake and Ice cream, and had lots of fun!! Happy Birthday to Alex!  Thanks for the invite we had lots of fun and only one wreck!!

Now this reminds me of my childhood

Sunday afternoon, we were just hanging out with Jamie when he got home form work. He and the kids were washing the truck, I was inside doing something, when I look out the window to see that apparently kids have come out of the wood works to play in the street.We have lived here around 8 years and it has usually been our kids out playing and maybe one more, but not this day! All of a sudden we have a neighbor hood full of kids!! It was great! All the kids out, most of the parents, having fun and getting to now each other! Enjoy the pics of the chaos!!

Eric’s 1st Cub Scout Camping Trip

Camp O’Rear, Jasper, AL aka hard to find in the middle of nowhere!!We had a great time and got to meet some new friends!!

When we first arrived, we met with the Jasper Boy Scout Troop and participated in a Flag Retirement Ceremony, followed by a short night hike and then back to camp to put up the tents for the boys and make some s’mores! (luckily the adults got to sleep on bunk beds in a cabin!)

 

 

The boys stayed up pretty late that night and Eric informed me that he woke up outside the tent?? (not real sure about this one) But other than that, he enjoyed it!

The next day the scouts were divided into groups to do some fun games that were designed to help them learn to work together.

The object of this one was to get a ball into a bucket using strings and and small ring… they had a lot of trouble with it!

Eric and I had a great time and a great experience! Hate his daddy and brother had to miss it! I know there will be plenty more trips to go on though! We got back in time to watch the end of the Auburn game… War Eagle!! Great game, glad I didn’t miss the ending!  Later that night we went to a scout swim party, sorry no pics! Then came home to crash for the night. You know, it’s sad when sleeping late the next day means getting up at 7:30, before the kids!  Oh well, at least we made it to church on time, however did not make it to Shanna’s Jewelry party today, sorry but I was exhausted and tired of fighting kids in public places!! Hope it went well!!  OH, almost forgot, If anyone wants to buy popcorn, the Scouts are selling it, just give me a holler!!

Hope we have a nice relaxing week, oh wait we have baseball and a den meeting! Oh well! maybe next week!! 

GNO Alabama Concert

Friday night the girls at work got together and went to eat at Browns and then to the Alabama concert at the amphitheater! (thanks Dr. Hooper)
Had a great time with everyone and enjoyed meeting a new friend, thanks for going with us Julie! Hope everyone has a great Labor Day!!
