Funny Hat day 2011

Funny Hat Day for John Emory!! 1/27/11!
Here is the hat that we borrowed from a friend for him to wear! His teacher Mrs. Janet said he loved wearing all morning!! We sure are lucky to have such wonderful teachers for him!! He loves to go to his school and actually cried when he left yesterday!!
Here he is with a funny hat he made at school! I kept trying to get a pic of him wearing it, however he would not cooperate!! As you can see in the pics below!!
 Anywhere but on his head!!
"Here Eric you wear it! I'm running from crazy momma with the camera!"
Here is at least a picture of the hat! It's really cute! Reminds me of something they would wear in whoville!
Almost got a pic of it on him!
I told him if you want to go out you have to put on a hat! That finally got the hat on him, however I couldn't get him smiling and looking at the camera!! Should I get a better pic... I will get it up for you guys, but it's not looking so good!!!

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!!!!!

So, Happy 100 days of School!!! On 1/25/11 Eric's class celebrated 100 days of school by dressing up like they were 100 years old! So here is my 100 year old son in his old man attire!!! Hat? Check! Glasses? Check! Bow Tie? Check! Gray Hair? Check! Hearing Aid? I'm sorry what did you say? Speak into my good ear!! Check! Suspenders????
 Check!!!!

Such a cutie!! Wish I could have seen the whole class!! He told me his friend Cameron looked like an old golfer!! HA HA! Isn't Kindergarten so much FUN!!
On this day his class also went to the High School to watch a production of Suessical! He absolutely loved it! He has forgotten that a couple of years ago I took him to see it when the Tuscaloosa Children's Theater performed it! He told me this long elaborate story of how they picked him to come backstage and put on a costume and be the elephant bird!! Unfortunately, he told me, he could not get me a copy of a picture of him in the musical because the copier was broken!! HA HA what an imagination!! Apparently the elephant bird was his favorite part!!

Eric's first snow 2008 CCM challenge

so here is my entry for rene's CCM challenge! Winter theme this time and so I decided to pull out the pics and scrap Eric's first snow! It wasn't much, but it was enough for him to check it out. He was three when these pics were taken. As for my scrap design, when it started to take shape, it looked like a window that you were looking out of and could see him out there playing. I thought it was pretty creative!! Especially since I had JE to tend to the whole time! And you would think I would get it finished when he decided to nap, but no... I got sucked into a movie... Uptown Girls with Brittany Murphy. So I finally finished the page last night with much protest from the little one. Maybe I will scrap his first snow next time and he will be happy!!

12/28/10 Christmas with Jason

our last Christmas we celebrated with Jamie's brother Jason, who had to work on Christmas. We exchanged gifts at our house and enjoyed a nice visit! The boys are getting good at this and JE only had to worry about opening one present this time!

Jamie and Jason exchanging gifts
Jason I told you that you would make the blog... so here you are!!
That's caroline and rebecca visiting!! They were in town and at our house playing to give mom and dad a break!! After all it was mom's birthday and we thought we would let her go celebrate without all the kids!!

This was the end of our Christmas celebrating!! We had a great time!! Hope you did too!!

Christmas in Pine Hill 12/25/10

so, after Santa Claus came, we played for a little while, then got ready to go to Pine Hill to see Jamie's folks. Here we are getting started with the presents after eating a delicious lunch
Again, here is the only present that JE opened... after this he was done!

Eric got the Lego fire station that he has been wanting for at least a year!!
Jamie's grandmother
Here is JE playing with his Buzz Lightyear rocket

Jamie's dad

Jamie's mom

we unfortunately had to cut our visit short this date because the weather was bad and we needed to be on our way before the roads got bad, however we had a great time!!

Here Comes Santa Claus... 12/25/10

I know it's hard to see because the lights are out, but here is what Eric got. I think his favorite is the Light in the night that Santa left him to help him sleep in his bed all night without being afraid. He says that it works and he is not afraid anymore! Here's something Santa left for both the boys and to help mommy's sanity when on long car rides!! Guess he heard our other one broke!!
Here's the loot that JE got from Santa... there are a couple of identical items that Eric got because I have learned that sometimes with boys they have to have the same thing to keep the fights to a minimum!!
So Christmas morning Jamie and I wake up to the sound of silence in the house!! It's 7:30 and both our children are still snoozing!!This is insane! I was always up at the crack of dawn seeing what I got... my boys, not so much!! Jamie and I were on our way to start to wake up Eric when he appeared in the kitchen with us. He had walked by all the presents and hadn't noticed! He said we have to look under the tree to see what Santa brought us! He walked past them again to the tree and was disappointed to see the same presents that were there the day before. Here was his expression when he finally realized where the presents were!!!

John Emory still sleeping hard!!

Still sleepy, not sure why we woke him up!!

He quickly got over it and played with his new train table for the rest of the morning!!
We had a great Christmas morning, but it didn't last long because we had to get on the road for our Christmas road trip to see Jamie's family. Good thing Santa brought those DVD players!! They were quickly installed in the car before we left!!

Christmas with the McDuffie's 12/24/10

The excitement is building as the kids decorate one of their rooms in Christmas lights!! I have a funny video of this if I can ever get this thing to load it!!! (any tips out there?) This is one last birthday present for Eric from my brother Jason..

Santa's little helper...
Can you tell they are excited...

Rebecca, John, Jenni, and Jason

let the fun begin...
The first and only present that JE opened... RC from Toy Story! He absolutely loved it! He had to have it out of the box right then..

and here is the aftermath of four kids and 7 adults opening presents...

Chirstmas Programs

Eric was a Shepherd in the Church's Christmas Program

This was John Emory's first Christmas Program at Northport Baptist... They sent home his songs and we worked on them several times a week. He did so good! He didn't sing any of the songs, however he did do most of the motions!! I was so proud of my little man!! (He's wearing the green in the middle! That's sweet Mac on his left! Can't see him too well through that lady taking a picture!)

John Emory and his teacher Mrs. Janet

December 16 2010

We surprised Eric at his school and ate lunch with him!! Then we went to my parents to help him celebrate his birthday some more! Here are the gifts we gave him...
A new BB Gun

A camouflage shirt and pants

and a camouflage pull over... now he is ready to go on his first hunting trip

JE gave him a small Lego set... doesn't he look thrilled to get it!!
We had a great day celebrating!! He is getting so big!! Can't believe he is six... although he is telling everyone he is 7??
